Christy Barongan earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and English at the University of Virginia. She has a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Kent State University. Her prior experiences include serving as an assistant professor at Mary Baldwin College and at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. She joined the University Counseling Center in 2002. Her professional interests include eating disorders/body image, women’s and multicultural issues, relationships, and wellness/positive psychology. She has a mental health blog that demonstrates the practice of self-acceptance.
